This week, Hurricane Software announced the relaunch of WinGREP as Hurricane Search. We invite you to join our excitement as we expand and build upon the search tool you have enjoyed for many years.

All WinGREP 4 users are encouraged to download version 4.05 , available here.

For complete list of changes, a change log is available. There are no new features in this build, but several problems have been addressed. Here are some highlights of the new release:

• A patch from 4.04 to 4.05 is available.
• Fixed problem where WinGREP would not search in root directory if search in sub-directories was selected.
• Several stability issues are addressed in this version. This release solves a few outstanding memory and resource issues, as well as the problem causing unexplained and somewhat random crashing.
• Several minor regular expression and DOS expressions issues were fixed.
• A fix for Delphi users who were having trouble synchronizing their IDE's
• Standard Edition users can now define the list of known text and binary files. This solves the problem where WinGREP would incorrectly detect a file as binary and skip searching that file.

To install 4.05:

Run either the full downloaded program or the patch from 4.04 to 4.05 and follow the on-screen instructions. You do not need to uninstall any previous versions.

• A patch from 4.02 to 4.03 is now available and half the size of a full download!
• Standard and Professional Edition users will enjoy greatly enhanced regular expression support (more comprehensive expression support and faster searching).
• Standard and Professional Edition users can now use splitters to size the bottom portion of the user interface. This solves a problem where users were having trouble with missing buttons at the bottom of their screen.
• Professional Edition users now have complete control over filetypes that are designated as binary or text. This will solve the problem where WinGREP was treating certain types of text files as binary files.
• Standard and Professional Edition users will notice several improvements in the user interface.
• Standard and Professional Edition users now have logical AND and OR capability in the standard search with the addition of the "Match All Words" checkbox.
• Improved the reliability of search Word and PDF files for Professional Edition users.

Before installing 4.02, paid WinGREP users should locate and note your 4.0 registration key (sent to you in your order confirmation email near the bottom of the message), which will be used for the 4.02 installation. The 4.02 release is available as an executable, and should be installed over the 4.0, and 4.01 releases.
